Heron Lake Golf Resort, also known as Dam Vac Golf Course, sits on the shore of Dam Vac Lake in Vinh Yen, about 45 km northwest of Hanoi. The drive takes under an hour. The course is named after the herons, tall wading birds, that live around the lake, and you'll often see them along the fairways. The lake, wetlands and mature planting make it feel more like a nature reserve than a resort course. The 18-hole, par-72 layout by Pacific Coast Design stretches 6,883 yards, and water comes into play on most holes. Broad stretches of lake hug the fairways, and white-sand bunkers are shaped right into the shoreline around the greens, so placing your approach matters more than distance. Paspalum grass covers both fairways and rough, so you get a consistent lie even when you miss the short grass. Since April 2026 the course has offered floodlit night golf on weekdays. Facilities include a driving range, chipping and putting areas, a pro shop and a clubhouse restaurant. Caddies are required for every round, and buggies, clubs and shoes can be rented on site.
