About

Located just 10 kilometers from Hanoi's city center, Long Bien Golf Course offers a convenient escape within the urban landscape. The course is set on gently undulating terrain, with rows of palm trees and meandering streams adding to the visual appeal. While it lacks coastal or mountainous vistas, the thoughtfully designed landscape provides a pleasant backdrop for a round of golf. The 27-hole layout, crafted by Nelson & Haworth, emphasizes accuracy over distance. Measuring 7,201 yards from the back tees, the course features elevated greens and strategically placed deep fairway bunkers. Notably, the short par-5 fifth hole presents a scoring opportunity, rewarding precise shot placement. Golfers can take advantage of the international-standard lighting system, allowing for night play—a rare feature in the region. The expansive clubhouse includes luxurious locker rooms and a restaurant serving both local and international cuisine.

A Hole 1 · Par 4

A long, straight par 4 between lines of trees. Bunkers sit on the left of the fairway in the driving zone, and there are more bunkers short and right of the green.

Drive down the right-centre to stay clear of the left fairway bunkers.

A Hole 2 · Par 4

A straight par 4 with a long lake on the left from the tee to the driving zone. Bunkers squeeze the landing area on both sides, and the green has bunkers left and right.

Favour the right-centre off the tee; the lake and bunkers punish anything pulled left.

A Hole 3 · Par 4

A par 4 that bends gently left. A lake runs along the left of the tee shot, with a line of bunkers between it and the fairway. The green is ringed by bunkers on the left and at the back.

Aim at the right half of the fairway and leave the lake and bunkers to the left.

A Hole 4 · Par 3

A 188-yard par 3 played over a lake that sits short and left of the green. Bunkers wrap the left side and back, so the safe miss is short right.

Take enough club to carry the water, and lean right of the flag.

A Hole 5 · Par 5

A 543-yard par 5 and one of the toughest on this nine. The drive must avoid bunkers on both sides, and another bunker sits in the middle of the fairway further on. Big bunkers line the left near the green.

Lay up short of the mid-fairway bunker so your third comes in from the right side.

A Hole 6 · Par 3

A 199-yard par 3 with the whole shot carried over a large lake. Bunkers sit left, right and behind the green.

Commit to the full carry: anything short is wet, and long finds sand.

A Hole 7 · Par 4

A straight, tree-lined par 4. Two bunkers on the left catch the drive, a bunker in the fairway sits about 80 yards short of the green, and there is a bunker front-right of the green.

Play to the right-centre off the tee; it gives the best angle past the greenside bunker.

A Hole 8 · Par 4

At 480 yards, the hardest hole on this nine: a long par 4 drifting slightly left. Bunkers sit left and right in the driving zone, and a cluster guards the right side of the green.

A long drive between the bunkers is key; miss the approach left, away from the sand.

A Hole 9 · Par 5

A 539-yard par 5 with a large lake down the right side for the second half of the hole. Bunkers sit along the left near the green, and more bunkers ring the green between it and the water.

Keep your second shot left-centre; the lake runs right up to the green on the right.

B Hole 1 · Par 5

A long, gently curving par 5 lined with trees. Fairway bunkers sit left and right in the driving zone, and the green is ringed by sand, with a cluster short and to the right.

Lay up short of the bunker cluster that guards the front right of the green.

B Hole 2 · Par 3

A straight par 3 of 190 yards to a green with two bunkers short left and two short right, plus another behind on the left.

Take enough club to carry the front bunkers. The middle of the green is the safe target.

B Hole 3 · Par 4

A straight par 4 with a line of four fairway bunkers down the left of the driving zone. A single bunker sits short and right of a small green.

Drive down the right-centre to stay clear of the left-side bunkers.

B Hole 4 · Par 4

A short par 4 that bends gently left towards the green. A large group of bunkers covers the left of the fairway, with another on the right and sand left of and behind the green.

Position the tee shot right of centre and leave a full wedge in.

B Hole 5 · Par 3

A par 3 of 189 yards played over the tail of a lake, which runs down the whole left side of the green. Bunkers sit behind on the left and short on the right.

Favour the right half of the green, since anything left finds the water.

B Hole 6 · Par 4

One of the toughest holes on this nine: a par 4 that bends left, with a pond left of the tees and a pair of fairway bunkers on the left. Sand guards the left and front of the green.

Aim the drive right of the left-side bunkers. Approach from the right to avoid the front sand.

B Hole 7 · Par 4

A par 4 that doglegs right around a large lake. The approach plays across the water to a green with the lake on its right and a bunker at the back left.

Keep the drive to the left half, then take enough club to clear the water.

B Hole 8 · Par 5

At 615 yards a very long par 5. A lake sits right of the tee shot and bunkers line both sides of the fairway. The green is guarded by sand at the back left and front right.

Drive away from the lake on the right, then plan three solid shots rather than chasing distance.

B Hole 9 · Par 4

The hardest hole on this nine: a long par 4 bending left, with a lake down the left that runs up to the front of the green. Several bunkers sit left of and behind the green.

Drive down the right side. If in doubt, bail out right of the green, not left.

C Hole 1 · Par 4

A straight par 4 with a lake all the way down the left. A long strip of sand runs between the water and the fairway, and there is another bunker short and left of the green.

Aim down the right-centre; anything pulled left finds sand or water.

C Hole 2 · Par 4

One of the toughest on this nine: a par 4 with water down the whole left side, right up to the green. Bunkers sit right of the fairway in the landing area and right of the green, which drifts slightly left towards the lake.

Favour the right of the green on your approach; the water hugs its left edge.

C Hole 3 · Par 4

A straight, shorter par 4 with water along the left. Bunkers guard the right of the fairway in the driving zone, and more sand lines the left of the green above the water.

A long iron or hybrid off the tee stays short of the right-side fairway bunkers.

C Hole 4 · Par 4

A straight par 4 with bunkers left of the fairway off the tee and more on the right closer in. The green is ringed by sand, with water just behind it.

Don't go long with your approach; sand and then water wait behind the green.

C Hole 5 · Par 3

One of the toughest on this nine: a 141-yard par 3 to an island green, with water all the way from tee to green and a bunker at the front right.

Take enough club to carry the water and aim for the middle of the green.

C Hole 6 · Par 4

A par 4 where the back tees play across a lake that also runs up the right of the fairway. Bunkers flank both sides of the fairway closer in and both sides of the long, narrow green.

Carry the lake and aim left-centre; check the pin position on this long, narrow green.

C Hole 7 · Par 4

The hardest hole on this nine: a 422-yard par 4 that bends gently right towards the green. A bunker sits left of the fairway in the landing area, with another short and left of a large green.

A long drive down the centre leaves a mid-iron; miss the green right rather than left.

C Hole 8 · Par 5

A long, straight par 5 with a row of bunkers down the left of the driving zone. More bunkers sit on both sides around 100 yards out and around a small green.

Lay up to a full-wedge distance so you avoid the bunkers about 100 yards out.

C Hole 9 · Par 3

A par 3 of 167 yards with a large waste bunker in front and to the right of the green and more sand behind it. There is a patch of fairway short and left.

If in doubt, miss short and left onto the fairway, well away from the sand on the right.
