Montaña Golf Course

Montaña Golf Course is in Thịnh Minh commune, Phú Thọ province, in the former Hòa Bình area about an hour's drive west of Hanoi. It is the first course in Vietnam by Olazabal Design, the Spanish firm associated with José María Olazábal, and is planned as a 36-hole club with a Spanish theme. The East course, now open, was laid out by lead architect Toni Ortner across hills, valleys, lakes and streams, with about 110 metres of elevation change. It has steep-faced bunkers and contoured Mach 1 greens; the 621-yard 12th is the hardest hole and the 18th climbs back to the clubhouse. A second 18, the West course, is being built. Facilities include a clubhouse restaurant serving European and Asian food, locker rooms with saunas, a driving range and two short-game areas. The course is floodlit, and the club sells evening tee times.
