Stone Valley Golf Resort sits in Kim Bảng, in the former Hà Nam province now part of Ninh Bình, about an hour south of Hanoi. The course fills a broad valley ringed by forested limestone peaks, a landscape that has served as a film backdrop. Brian Curley of Schmidt-Curley Design laid out 27 holes, played as three nines. The A nine has streams, lakes and fields of exposed rock, including a short par 4 played across a rock field; the C nine climbs into steeper, mountainous ground with views over the valley. Greens are boldly contoured, with slopes that can feed the ball towards the hole. A large clubhouse overlooks the front nine, with a restaurant, terrace, locker rooms, meeting rooms and a pro shop. There is a driving range with covered bays, and the club's price card lists tee times into the evening under lights.
